Frank Lampard Children: Who Are Luna, Isla, Patricia and Freddie, and How Old Are His Four Kids?

Frank Lampard is remembered by football fans as one of Chelsea’s greatest midfielders, but away from stadiums and management he is also a father of four. The former England international has two older daughters, Luna and Isla, from his previous relationship with Spanish model Elen Rivas, as well as two younger children, Patricia and Frederick, with his wife, television presenter Christine Lampard.

The Frank Lampard children have grown up across very different stages of his life. How Many Children Does Frank Lampard Have?

Frank Lampard has four children in total.

Luna Lampard was born on August 22, 2005, and is Frank’s eldest child.

She was born during one of the most successful periods of her father’s football career. Lampard was then a central figure at Chelsea and had just helped the club win its first Premier League title of the modern era.

Luna is Frank’s daughter with Elen Rivas, a Spanish former model and businesswoman. Frank and Elen were together for several years and became engaged before their relationship ended in 2009.

Although Lampard spent much of Luna’s childhood travelling for football, he has spoken publicly about wanting to remain involved in the everyday side of parenting.

Like Luna, Isla is Frank’s daughter from his relationship with Elen Rivas. The sisters were still very young when their parents separated.

Lampard made his commitment to remaining involved in their lives clear after the breakup. During a widely discussed radio call in 2009, he challenged criticism surrounding his family arrangements and said he had worked hard to keep his family together.

Isla was around two years old when Christine became part of Frank’s life.

That detail became important years later when Christine discussed becoming a stepmother. Before having children of her own, she had already experienced many stages of parenting through helping raise Luna and Isla.

Christine said in 2018 that she had known the girls since they were roughly four and two years old, meaning she had experienced their toddler years, school years and the beginning of their teenage years before giving birth herself.

Patricia Charlotte Lampard

Frank and Christine welcomed their first child together, Patricia Charlotte Lampard, on September 21, 2018.

The name carried considerable emotional meaning for Frank.

Patricia was named in honor of his mother, Patricia “Pat” Lampard, who died from pneumonia in April 2008 at the age of 58. Her death had an enormous impact on Frank during his playing career, making the decision to give his daughter her name especially personal.

Patricia was Christine’s first biological child.

Christine was 39 when she became a mother, though she already had years of experience helping care for Luna and Isla. More recently, she has spoken about how her feelings toward having children changed during her relationship with Frank.

Christine has said she had previously been comfortable with the possibility of not having children herself, but Frank encouraged her to reconsider. Frederick George “Freddie” Lampard

The youngest of the Frank Lampard children is Frederick George Lampard, better known as Freddie.

He was born in March 2021, making him the only son among Frank’s four children.

By that stage, family life looked very different from the years when Luna and Isla were small. Frank had retired from professional football and moved into management, while Christine continued her television career.

Freddie and Patricia are close in age, while their older sisters are more than a decade older.

Christine Lampard became part of Frank’s life in 2009, several years before they married in December 2015.

Blended families are not always straightforward, something Christine has acknowledged herself. She has spoken about the importance of patience and respect when becoming part of a family in which children already have established relationships with both biological parents.

Rather than attempting to replace their mother, Christine gradually developed her own bond with the girls.

By the time Patricia arrived in 2018, Luna and Isla were already firmly established in Christine’s life. The pregnancy announcement itself emphasized the whole family, with Frank sharing a photograph that included Christine and both of his older daughters while announcing that the Lampard family was growing.

Frank Lampard’s connection with family stretches beyond his own children.
