Roger Taylor Children: Meet Felix, Rory, Rufus, Tigerlily and Lola and Discover What They Do Today

Roger Taylor may be known around the world as the drummer, vocalist and songwriter behind some of Queen’s biggest songs, but away from the stage he is also the father of five children. His family includes two sons and three daughters, several of whom have built careers in music, acting, medicine, modeling, photography and other creative fields.

The British musician shares his two oldest children, Felix Luther Taylor and Rory Eleanor Taylor, with Dominique Beyrand. He later welcomed Rufus Tiger Taylor, Tigerlily Taylor and Lola Daisy May Taylor with former partner Deborah “Debbie” Leng. Taylor has been married to South African actress and producer Sarina Potgieter since 2010, and the couple do not have children together.

While Roger’s famous surname naturally brought attention to his family, his children have largely developed identities of their own. Rufus followed his father directly into professional drumming, while Rory chose medicine. Felix explored acting and writing, Tigerlily built a career around fashion and creative work, and Lola has moved increasingly toward photography and music.

Felix Luther Taylor

Felix Luther Taylor is Roger Taylor’s oldest child. He was born on May 22, 1980, in London to Roger and Dominique Beyrand.

Felix grew up surrounded by music during one of the busiest periods of Queen’s career, and he unintentionally played a small but memorable role in the creation of one of the band’s most famous songs.

Roger has explained that the idea behind “Radio Ga Ga” came after the young Felix made a comment about something playing on the radio. Roger recalled his son saying something resembling “Radio Ka Ka,” which caught his attention and eventually developed into the title and concept of the Queen hit. The song appeared on the band’s 1984 album The Works and went on to become one of Roger’s best-known compositions.

Felix did not simply rely on his connection to Queen as he grew older. He studied at the University of Sussex and explored several creative fields.

He has acting credits including Solitary, Close But No Cigar and an appearance in The Life of Rock with Brian Pern. He also worked with his younger half-sister Lola on “Moon Runners,” a track connected with Solitary.

Writing became another part of his career. Felix authored the dark comedy thriller Serve Cold, which his father publicly promoted through Queen’s official website. The book follows a food stylist who becomes obsessed with carefully planned revenge after problems involving his family and romantic life.

Felix has maintained a considerably lower public profile than his famous father, but his work shows that music was only one of several creative directions available to him.

Rory Eleanor Taylor

Roger and Dominique’s second child, Rory Eleanor Taylor, was born on May 29, 1986, in London.

Unlike several of her siblings, Rory chose a professional path largely removed from entertainment. She trained as a doctor and has worked in medicine, making her career quite different from the music, acting and modeling professions surrounding much of the Taylor family.

Rory graduated as a doctor in 2011 and subsequently worked as a junior doctor before becoming a general practitioner. She has also been associated with health awareness work, including support for initiatives encouraging younger people to become more familiar with their bodies and recognize potential health concerns.

Her relationship with her father has occasionally been discussed publicly. Roger and Rory have appeared together at events, offering a rare glimpse into the family life of a musician whose career has otherwise been defined by stadium performances and international touring.

Rory has also started a family of her own. She married Rory Hoddell in 2021, and they have a child together.

Her career demonstrates just how varied the paths taken by Roger’s children have been. Although she grew up with one of Britain’s most famous musicians as a father, Rory ultimately built her professional life in healthcare rather than entertainment.

Rufus Tiger Taylor

Rufus Tiger Taylor is probably the child whose career most closely resembles his father’s.

Born on March 8, 1991, to Roger Taylor and Debbie Leng, Rufus became a professional drummer and eventually established himself as a notable rock musician in his own right.

He spent time working with Queen + Adam Lambert, playing drums and percussion during live performances. That experience gave him an unusual opportunity to perform alongside his father while learning the demands of large-scale international touring.

Rufus later joined British rock band The Darkness in 2015. Years later, he remains the group’s drummer. The band’s official lineup continues to feature him alongside Justin Hawkins, Dan Hawkins and Frankie Poullain.

The Darkness released the album Dreams on Toast in 2025, which reached No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart. Rufus also contributed creatively beyond the drum kit, including co-directing an animated music video connected with the album.

His connection with Queen remains an important part of his story, but Rufus has spent years establishing himself outside his father’s band.

Even his middle name has a connection to Queen history. Freddie Mercury is widely credited with helping choose “Tiger,” giving Rufus a name closely linked to the band’s extended family.

Rufus has also performed with other major rock musicians over the years, including an appearance onstage with Foo Fighters for “Under Pressure.”

Among Roger’s children, Rufus provides the clearest example of musical talent passing directly from one generation to another.

Tigerlily Taylor

Tigerlily Taylor was born on October 10, 1994, in London and is Roger and Debbie’s second child together.

Instead of following her father into drumming, Tigerlily developed interests in fashion, photography, art and writing. Her mother Debbie’s successful modeling background also provided another creative influence within the family.

Tigerlily began modeling when she was young and appeared in fashion publications and campaigns. She was featured as a Teen Tatler cover model and later worked with brands while studying English literature at the University of Sussex.

Her creative work has expanded considerably beyond traditional modeling.

Tigerlily created Claws, a business focused on press-on nails, and has spoken publicly about sustainability, fashion, beauty and her experience growing up in a musical family. She continued to be described as both a model and the creator of the brand in 2025.

She has also contributed directly to her father’s work. Tigerlily created the front-cover illustration for Roger’s solo album Outsider, while her younger sister Lola contributed photography to the project.

That collaboration showed how Roger’s musical world and his children’s creative interests occasionally overlap without requiring them to pursue exactly the same careers.

Lola Daisy May Taylor

Lola Daisy May Leng Taylor is Roger’s youngest child. She was born on April 2, 2000, in London to Roger and Debbie Leng.

Like Tigerlily, Lola initially became known publicly through fashion and photography. She modeled when she was younger, including work alongside members of her family, but photography gradually became an increasingly important part of her creative identity.

Lola’s photographs were used in connection with Roger’s Outsider project and its subsequent live release, providing another example of father and daughter working together professionally.

Music has also become an important part of Lola’s career.

Performing under the name Lola Leng, she has released original songs including “Drop the Gun,” “The Chase,” “Just Fine,” “Feather” and “Driving Home.” Her 2025 release “Driving Home” continued her move into singer-songwriter territory.

Lola had already worked musically with her older half-brother Felix on “Moon Runners,” so her later solo material was not her first experience making music.

Her combination of photography, performance and songwriting makes her another member of the family who inherited a strong creative environment without simply copying Roger’s career.

Roger Taylor’s Family Today

Roger Taylor’s five children have taken noticeably different paths despite growing up around one of rock music’s most famous bands.

Felix moved between acting, music and writing. Rory became a doctor. Rufus followed most directly in his father’s footsteps and remains the drummer for The Darkness. Tigerlily combined modeling with art and entrepreneurship, while Lola has developed interests in photography and singer-songwriter music.

Roger himself remains active decades after Queen first became internationally successful. Born on July 26, 1949, in King’s Lynn, Norfolk, he helped form Queen after previously playing with Brian May in Smile. Alongside his famous drumming, he wrote songs including “Radio Ga Ga,” “A Kind of Magic,” “The Invisible Man” and “These Are the Days of Our Lives.”

His family has therefore grown up with an extraordinary musical legacy, but the five Taylor children have not simply remained in their father’s shadow. Medicine, writing, fashion, photography, business and rock music have all become part of the wider Taylor family story.

Rufus may have inherited the most obvious piece of his father’s professional life through drumming, while Felix even helped spark the idea for one of Queen’s biggest songs as a child. Still, each sibling has found a different way to build a life beyond the Queen name.
